21 Guns

When listening to the new album by Green Day, I instantly took a liking to this particular song. It is not a really heavy song, but it is just plain beautiful... And today I found the official music video :D

Lyrics:
Do you know what's worth fighting for
When it's not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away
And you feel yourself suffocating?

Does the pain weigh out the pride?
And you look for a place to hide?
Did someone break your heart inside?
You're in ruins

Chorus
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky
You and I

When you're at the end of the road
And you lost all sense of control
And your thoughts have taken their toll
When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul

Your faith walks on broken glass
And the hangover doesn't pass
Nothing's ever built to last
You're in ruins

Chorus
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky
You and I

Did you try to live on your own
When you burned down the house and home
Did you stand too close to the fire
Like a liar looking for forgiveness
From a stone

When it's time to live and let die
And you can't get another try
Something inside this heart has died
You're in ruins

Chorus
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky
(repeat)

Bohemian Rhapsody

I know it's been a while since my last post. I've been neglecting many aspects of my life while focussing on other things... Well, sometimes people need a break!

I found this on YouTube and just wanted to share :)

Shot in the dark (1)

As I've already mentioned, Seed of Rock was recording a demo. We got the music back last week and we managed to put some samples online, along with a full preview of the opening track Night of Rock.

The demo will be called Shot in the Dark and will be available somewhere near the end of May.

You can go have a listen at our myspace.

New Glasses

I've adjusted my appearance, yet again :D My eye-sight is still getting better and my glasses needed to be renewed... so I went and bought me a new pair and I'm trying out contacts these days. It would be easier to have those for when I go to the gym!

So, here are the glasses:

The last thing

I've been passed this tiny meme by Knijntje.

  1. What's the last text message you sent?
"Wie is dit?" (who is this?)
  2. What's the last edible object you stuffed into your mouth?
    A piece of plum pie.
  3. What's the last thing you copy-pasted? (just press ctrl+v)
  4. What's the last movie you saw at the cinema? Was it any good?
I believe it to be Mamma Mia in Berlin... it was okay I guess...
  5. What's the last thing you spent money on?
I bought some kebab for lunch.
And with this I'm passing it on to Kjoetie!

Back to business

So... I've been ill, I've been visiting babies, I've been practicing, I've been making a site for Seed of Rock... February is booked. It's as if I've never experienced such a busy schedule as now, yet I know better. I balanced a lot of stuff when I was still in my teacher's education.

This weekend we'll be locked inside with our instruments to finally get some real recordings done for a first demo. By the time we've got these recordings, I hope to have the site online for you all to see.

Maybe I'll finally get to blogging again someday :-D

Tille (2)

Tille is a little girl. She was 47,5cm and weighed about 3kg130 when she came into this world. Her name is Norsk for "warrior" or "fighter". Well at least it is someone who is strong in battle :-)

Here's some more in depth insight for the name:

MATILDA

Gender: Feminine

Usage: English, Swedish, Finnish, Slovak

Pronounced: mə-TIL-də (English)

From the Germanic name Mahthildis meaning "strength in battle", from the elements mahthild "battle". Saint Matilda was the wife of the 10th-century German king Henry I the Fowler. The name was brought to England by the Normans, being borne by the wife of William the Conqueror himself. It was popular until the 15th century in England, usually in the vernacular form Maud. Both forms were revived by the 19th century. This name appears in the popular Australian folk song 'Waltzing Matilda', written in 1895.

So, knowing her name and the meaning, I went to a store and bought her a little something:
